Crystals for Spring - Gemma Guscott

Spring is just around the corner and we often feel that need to start cleansing and freshening up our house and environment, but focusing part of those spring clean rituals on wellbeing can be so uplifting too. You can read my thoughts on spring cleaning your mind, body and soul here and my personal picks for crystals I like to use in this season here.

This weeks guest poster Gemma Guscott from Emerald Sky Healing is also focusing on using crystals for spring too. Gemma talks about what crystal are ideal for using in the spring months, what to do to get the best out of them for you and how you can use them around your home - enjoy!

As a crystal therapist I love to work with different crystals for each season. It’s a natural process, where the crystals that are aligned with a specific season will ‘talk’ to me, in their very unique language, to ensure they are chosen at the right time.

Springtime is all about new beginnings, a fresh outlook, growth, transformation and abundance. A traditional ‘Spring Clean’ not only applies to your home, but is also an ideal time for cleansing yourself of negative energies and thoughts and feelings that no longer serve you. Making way for fresh intentions and a new lease of live. So here I’d like to share with you my top 7 crystals for Springtime:
  1. Rose Quartz – This beautiful - ‘heart hug in a stone’ - opens your heart and helps to build confidence to guide you through new beginnings and projects. Have faith in your abilities and follow all your ideas through to the end. You have got this.
  1. Carnelian – The Sacral Chakra is the epitome of Spring, for me, and Carnelian is just the stone to help you to release your passions, ignite your creativity and boost your focus, all whilst leaving your central chakra in perfect balance.
  1. Moonstone – Working for you during the Spring Equinox Moonstone helps to boost your intuition at times of change. No new season would be complete without change. Astrological changes are in abundance at this time of year and Moonstone is your best friend to take you through the rollercoaster of this moon cycle.
  1. Green Aventurine – Give yourself a boost of confidence and reinvigorate those feelings of positivity with beautiful Green Aventurine. If you’re setting your sights on a professional goal it can help to attract prosperity, wealth and opportunities, as well as aiding in personal growth. Keep your green aventurine with you like a lucky clover to set your manifestations for the coming months alive.
  1. Moss Agate – With trees coming to life again and flowers blooming, Moss Agate is your connection to nature. The Agate family of crystals are naturally grounding stones that help to gain both physical, mental and emotional balance. Moss Agate, with its awe inspiring natural foliage appearance, also generates patience and inner peace, as well as bringing insight for new beginnings for the months ahead.
  1. Sunstone – With a name like Sunstone, it’s no wonder this beautiful stone of energy, light and positivity, has made it onto my list. Now, I know we don’t always get treated to rays of sunshine in Spring here in the UK, but never fear, Sunstone is here to right those wrongs. With it’s vibrant energies it’s here to lift the depression of the dark winter months, boost your energy and metabolism and increase your personal will power. As an extra bonus, this is also the stone to use to help to clear your mind of those negative energies that are no long serving you. Watch out spring, here we come!
  1. Crystals for the home – It’s important that we don’t leave our living spaces out of this spring time crystal overhaul, so I’d like to finish at ‘Lucky Number 7’ with a crystal grid for you to use around your home to help to release the build up of negativity from those long, dark days and anything in the previous months that will no longer serve you as you move forward into these light months. For your grid you will need – black obsidian, black tourmaline, selenite and a citrine point. Simply place the two black stones on a windowsill or shelf with the selenite, and then position the tip of the citrine point (usually the lightest coloured end) FACING into the two black crystals. Working together as your bodyguards, obsidian and tourmaline will rid your home of negative energies and protect it from outside negative influences. Selenite will cleanse and charge your space and the citrine will help to focus the negative energies into those stones, whilst lifting the vibrations and bringing in prosperity and abundance.
Be confident with your crystals, trust that you will know which ones are right for you and that you will know what to do with them. Carry them with you, wear them as jewellery, place them under your pillow, keep them in trays where you can see them on a daily basis. Do what works for you. The most important thing, when working with crystals, is to enjoy them. They will bring you what you need, when you need it.
