365 Pearls of Wisdom - Updated!

Hello!

If you’re new around here then welcome, and if you’re a long time friend — then welcome back!

It’s been a while since I’ve typed out a blog post for so many reasons, a world pandemic and a country wide lockdown for one, life as a home schooling mum to 3 children for two, but also I’ve felt for a long time now that a change was needed, not just here but generally in my life moving forward.

It’s taken me some time to figure it all out but I feel like I’m finally there!

Though writing this all down and sharing it with you makes me feel a little wobbly because I have a vision and then good old imposter syndrome, doubt and fear of failure come creeping in. But by telling you this way means I’m not letting it get the better of me, because I could so easily let it all stop me from doing anything!

So if you hadn’t seen from Instagram I quit the job I had as a Support Worker recently, it was only a few hours a week but I was guaranteed money in the bank. This was a huge decision for me as it leaves just my husband right now to put a roof over our head but he is so supportive and believes like me that we should all take some risks once in a while to shake things up a bit!

Whilst all this was happening I had the most fantastic, insightful and empowering Brand Storytelling Day with Sarah from These are the Days. Sarah helped me to pull all my ideas, thoughts and inspiration together and figure out how to present it to the world. She also gently nudged my boundaries and got me to look at myself as wellbeing writer and specialist, which felt incredibly hard to step into at first, in fact even now it feels fake - who I am I to declare this?! - but you know allowing myself to take this on and get even a tiny bit comfortable in these shoes has lit me up in way that I haven't felt for a really long time.

So where do I go from here?

Well, for a while now I’ve felt like I wanted to start telling stories, not the fictional kind, but real life ones. Stories of women from all over the world, with different beliefs, ideas, backgrounds and experiences. I want to give a voice to these women and share their wisdom with you because I strongly believe that when we have opportunities to read stories from others that empower and educate us we are able to grow and expand, and this gives us our best chance to step into what we truly want and need, enabling us to positively thrive.

There are so many stories to tell, there are so many amazing women who have faced adversity, over come hurdles and taken a risk, who have lived extraordinary lives or followed a dream, who have lost everything or had no one to believe in them or who have simply found the courage and wisdom to be who they really are in this world.

My mission is to connect you to these women here so you can find a story that inspires you or gain some useful insights whenever you need it because sharing the wisdom of life can be life changing. When was younger I found it hard to find other women who I could really connect with. In my teens and twenties I felt like such a lost soul, I was drifting through life and it wasn’t until my mid thirties that I started to come into contact with other women who inspired and empowered me to find a life I felt was meant for me.

I know I’m not alone in this, I know you might feel lost or stuck somewhere too, so many women do!

Back when I really struggled with myself, before I met my husband or became a mum, I didn’t have many people to turn to. I know that connecting to other women who understood my struggles or had wisdom to share would have made such a difference to my confidence, my resilience and my belief in myself.

So here I am now, starting on this journey of telling the stories of other women I wish I could have read back then. One of my favourite parts of blogging over the last 9 years has been sharing the HER WISDOM posts with you, I’ve been so honoured to connect you with some incredible women like Suzy Reading and Chloe Brotheridge who have both overcome challenges in their lives and shared the wisdom of their journeys in these posts.

Over the coming months the blog will change to reflect this, you can expect to see more of these stories from inspiring women, representing diversity, change and inclusivity too. I will also be sharing more of my own personal experiences and the wisdom I’ve learnt on the way. Plus I’m going to be introducing a new project/series to the blog which I’m really excited about! This is something Ive wanted to do for the longest time and I’ll share more about it soon but for now I’ll just say that it has the potential to be a game changer to how you start your day...!

I’m excited to start this new journey here, and share it with you! I’m so grateful that you have come here now to read more about this new adventure and I hope that you’ll stick around and find some new stories to connect to for yourself.

For now, sending love and wisdom your way!
